This issue will be addressed in the Marketing Impact Assessment. Monitored through consideration of complaints (the policy invites the reader to make these), through Matrix assessment and accreditation and through the vigilance of the Head of Guidance who works in both offices. Customer evaluation/feedback is an agenda item at each monthly staff meeting. In addition the service runs client focus/feedback groups on an occasional basis.Written students complaints or compliments. Outcomes of focus groups. Anecdotal and behavioural evidence. Specific student minorities have not been deliberately targeted in the gathering of evidence and it is not known whether views have been sought or given from members of all groups. To be certain that there is no adverse effect upon all groups, there is a need to ensure that all groups are consulted upon this policy. Steps will be taken in future that focus groups are representative. Feed back on the policy will also be deliberately sought through the website. No specific consultation has been taken on this policy but it does embrace all aspects of Careers service provision and consultation has been taken through focus groups and research projects on various aspects of the service which contribute to the policy. Some years ago a survey was undertaken of the guidance needs of part time students. The survey indicated that some would appreciate it, if a guidance service was available out of normal office hours. It is possible that there is a greater proportion of learners from lower social economic groups and very probably females within our part time learner community. The service responded to the request for extended opening hours by opening one evening and a Saturday morning each week. The take up from part time students was low but we piloted the service for 12 months. It was felt that it was not cost effective or good for staff moral to continue with this service. The service have recently launched a comprehensive e-guidance service in addition to our normal opening hours which will meet the needs of most students for an out of normal hours service. Staff are also prepared to see clients on a one to one basis (in a safe environment) on an evening or weekend by arrangement. ) on an evening or weekend by arrangement.
